GROUP MINISTRIES

ADULT BIBLE STUDIES

Sunday Morning Bible Study meets at 10:45 am in the Library on the upper level of the church during the school year.

Weekday Bible Studies meet periodically throughout the year and are generally short term studies.

7 pm Book Study meets every six weeks on a Tuesday or Thursday evening. Check the newsletter or calendar for current dates and times.

WOMEN'S GROUPS

Women's Circles meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month

  • 9 am Sarah Circle meets in the Fireside room on the upper level.
  • 10 am Abigail Circle meets in the Library on the upper level.
  • 1 pm Martha Circle meets in members homes.
  • 2 pm Ruth-Rebecca Circle meets in the Fireside room on the upper level.

Lord's Ladies

This is a group for early risers. It meets every Thursday at 7 am. Devotions, prayer, and fellowship are shared, along with breakfast at a local restaurant. For over 20 years, they have faithfully met each Thursday.

Bad Girls of the Bible

Named after the book by Liz Curtis Higgs, this study-fellowship group meets at 7-9 pm the 1st Thursday of the month from September through May. They meet on the lower level of the building in the Gathering Room. As they occasionally meet off site for retreats, please check the calendar or call the church office for details.

Quilting

A group of women meet the 2nd Monday of the month from 10 am to 3 pm during the school year. Patterns are shared and they are happy to help the beginner. Lunch is always potluck. See the Outreach link for more information on their mission.

Knitting

Knitters meet on the 1st Wednesday of the month at noon to 2 pm during the school year. People are free to bring their projects or start a new one. Patterns are shared. Along with sweaters and scarves for personal use, group members knit Prayer shawls for people going through difficult times or joyful moments of new birth. Each year over a thousand items like hats, mittens, preemie hats, and blankets are given to Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. Yarn is available for charitable projects.

Ultimate Challenge Camp Reunion - January

Youth and Young Adults who have attended Ultimate Challenge Camp gather each January for a weekend retreat, to reconnect, worship, and celebrate.

PRAYER CHAIN

Our church has a very special group of people who have faithfully committed themselves to our Prayer Chain. Prayer requests are passed along from one member to the next member on the list. Each person is asked to pray immediately upon calling a request in and to continue to pray faithfully in the days/weeks ahead. There is also an e-mail list of faithful prayer partners.

"Prayer is the tiny nerve that moves God's mighty Hand". We really do not understand how powerful prayer is ... we just need to be faithful to our prayer life and God in His goodness will take care of the results.

As United Methodists, We Believe...

United Methodists share four main guidelines for belief. These guidelines help them understand their faith and include:

  • Scripture
  • Tradition
  • Experience
  • Reason

United Methodists share a common heritage with other Christians.

  • Conviction that God has mercy and love for all people.
  • Belief in a triune God--Father, Son and Holy Spirit .
  • Faith in the mystery of salvation through Jesus Christ.
  • Celebration of the sacraments.
